Target Finds
A unique section of Target.com with a editorial feel that’s more about scrolling and discovering than searching for specific items. I led multiple iterations of the design system. The challenge was creating a distinct look/feel and interaction framework while still living within the larger Target.com ecosystem.
SYSTEM DESIGN - DEVEOPMENT OVER TIME OF THE CONTENT “CARD” SYSTEM:
In earlier designs, there was a strong push to entice clicks by showing as many images as possible for each story. However this led to confusion from the user on what was clickable and where it was taking them. This was resolved by creating “cards” that neatly housed the content and made it clear what the user was clicking.

CONTENT REVAMP:
Over time, the content categories of Target Finds became bloated and confusing, so I embarked on a complete audit of all Finds content. I printed out every single story on and hung the them on a wall so the team could literally see everything we had, and begin to re-organize the stories into four primary categories.

“RULE OF 12” SYSTEM:
Working with our engineers, we developed a flexible grid system for Target Finds “stories,” which are highly visually cross-category product pages inspired by trending styles on social platforms like Pinterest, Instagram and TikTok.
